POSITION SUMMARY

Filing and Records Retrieval

Establish and maintain a filing system for all business office documents that ensures safe, secure storage and easy

retrieval of supporting documentation for all transactions, personnel records, banking records and reports as required

Financial Reporting

1. Prepare all federal, state and local financial reports for review by the administrative team and the school’s

2. Prepare and present to the governing body any financial reports needed for the prudent management of

the school’s resources.

 

Capital Assets

1. Maintain asset lists and schedules as needed for an annual asset inventory and for the accurate valuation

and depreciation of assets.

 

2. Oversee an annual asset physical inventory.

 

Financial Audit

1. Oversee the timely presentation of transaction documentation as required for audits conducted by internal

or external auditors acting under the auspices of governing authorities.

 

2. Prepare reports and schedules as required for audits conducted by internal or external auditors acting

under the auspices of governing authorities.

 

3. Draft corrective action plans responsive to audit exceptions for review by the administrative team, the

audit committee, the school’s governing body and other governing authorities.  Implement corrective action

plans as needed.


 

Cash, Banking and Account Reconciliation

1. Oversee the process for timely receipting cash as required by regulatory guidelines and with proper internal

controls.

 

2. Oversee the process for timely depositing of cash as required by regulatory guidelines and with proper

internal controls.

 

3. Review monthly reconciliations of bank statements to the bank register and general ledger. Resolve any

discrepancies and provide reconciliation worksheets for finance committee review.

 

Security

1. Ensure the security and privacy of all business and personnel records.

 

2. Keep cash secure while it is in custody of the school.

 

Accounts Receivable

1. Prepare accurate invoices and requests for reimbursement on a timely basis, and minimize

outstanding  receivables.

 

2. Establish and maintain an accounts receivable system that ensures the timely receipt of monies

owed to the school by other agencies and private parties.

 

3. Prepare accounts receivable reports for the administrative team and the governing body.

  • Keep student records and data up-to-date, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance accounting, and logging all student and parent contacts;
  • Consult with other teachers and staff learning specialists to develop alternate enrichment activities and modifications to students’ programs to increase student understanding;
  • Work with other teachers to coordinate social activities and relevant field trips for students;
  • Manage regional field trips and make efforts to integrate trips into the curriculum;
  • Devise and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a “school community”;
  • Participate in the organization and administration of the State Testing, as directed;
  • Participate in student recruiting sessions and other marketing efforts that require teacher representation;
  • Work with Advisory Teachers and School Counselor to ensure students and families are receiving appropriate communications, students are making adequate progress and established goals are being met;

Position Summary and Responsabilities

Working from our office in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the Special Education Teacher will “virtually” manage instructional programs for students with special needs.

Through use of the telephone, Internet and various curriculum tools they will consult regularly with learning coaches and students to ensure that each child

successfully completes his/her instructional program. The Special Education Teacher will participate in all steps of the IEP process. They will work closely with

other teachers and district professionals to ensure that the school’s special education program is successful and operating in compliance with federal and state

regulations. The Special Education Teacher will utilize technology to deliver virtual instruction.

The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:

  • Manage and provide instructional guidance, virtual teaching and general strategies for a caseload of students;
  • Develop, write and help implement IEPs and 504 plans;
  • Evaluate tests and assessments complete report cards and conduct parent conferences;

Working out of their home in New Mexico, the Adjunct Teacher will “virtually” manage subject-specific instructional programs. Compensation will be based on the

specific course workload and number of enrolled students. He/she will be responsible for monitoring progress, evaluating work, running online instructional/tutorial

sessions, providing academic guidance, and being the subject-matter expert for a caseload of middle/high school students. The Teacher must be able to complete

work related responsibilities through a combination of regular office hours during the school day in conjunctions with hours scheduled outside the normal school
