Dr. Bruce Hegwer, Executive Director: For the past 32 years Dr. Bruce Hegwer has worked in Education in New Mexico as a teacher, principal, superintendent and regional education center director. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and his Master's degree in Education from Eastern New Mexico University and his Doctorate in Education Administration from the University of New Mexico in 1996. Dr. Hegwer has been an adjunct faculty member for Western New Mexico University and New Mexico State University and has contracted with many school districts and organizations in New Mexico as a consultant. He has served on many Education Association boards and panels in New Mexico and is currently an Advisory Board Member for IDEAL-NM. Bruce has presented on several occasions at the NMCCS Annual Charter School Conference, and has provided professional development and technical assistance to numerous Charter Schools in New Mexico. Michael Vigil, COO: With more than 20 years experience in public schools, Michael is an expert in public school business operations. Michael began his career in public schools by establishing the internal audit department for the Albuquerque Public Schools in 1990. Advancing within APS, Michael was promoted from Director of Internal Audit to Chief Financial Officer to Chief Business Officer and ultimately to Superintendent for Business. Michael’s experience has given him a very exclusive perspective and understanding of public school finance as it relates to the district, state and federal requirements. Michael’s responsibilities included managing the APS budget with an all funds total in excess of $800 million. In addition, Michael has worked with Charter Schools for over 6 years in public school finance. Michael has a thorough understanding of fund accounting and state and federal rules and regulations. Michael is well versed in state and federal laws impacting school business operations. This includes knowledge of the state procurement code and IRS regulations. Michael also staffed on the APS audit committee for 16 years bringing insight into operational issues. Michael was Treasurer of the Albuquerque Public Schools Foundation for 4 years when balances grew in excess of $6 million. Michael is a graduate of the University of New Mexico.   Mackenzie Webb: Mackenzie Webb is the Member Services Coordinator. Before joining the Coalition, Mackenzie spent the first two decades of her life living on the East Coast with her family. The family’s move to New Mexico proved to be a successful one, having the opportunity to attend and graduate from the University of New Mexico. Mackenzie graduated from UNM with a Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Languages with a minor in Philosophy. She has also completed over 30 hours of training in Non-Profit Management. Prior to becoming a full time employee, she interned at NMCCS from 2008-2010 and worked as a part time employee during her last semester of college. She enjoys reading, spending time with her family & friends, and supporting her hometown football team- the Philadelphia Eagles. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.   Mike Vigil II: Mike Vigil is the Licensed Business Manager for the New Mexico Coalition for Charter Schools. Prior to working with the Coalition, Mike was involved in retail sporting goods management.   Sean Fry: Sean is a Licensed Business Manager for the New Mexico Coalition for Charter Schools. Before joining the Coalition, Sean worked in electronics retail in customer service and administration.   Justine Roybal: Justine is a Licensed Business Manager for the New Mexico Coalition for Charter Schools. Justine graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor's Degree of Business from the Anderson School of Management. While at UNM, Justine was involved with the New Mexico Hispanic Association. Prior to working at the Coalition, Justine worked as a customer service representative at Fidelity Investments. Outside of work, she likes to cook, workout, and be involved in any outdoor activities.
 

Amber Peña: Amber is a Licensed Business Manager for the New Mexico Coalition for Charter Schools. Amber graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor's Degree of Business from the Anderson School of Management. 

 

Charlotte Archuleta: Charlotte is the Business Office Supervisor. Charlotte began her business career managing her and her husband’s business for 12 years. She then went to work with another family business. Charlotte was then employed by Albuquerque Public Schools as a bookkeeper working in the office of Representative Sheryl Williams-Stapleton. Charlotte moved into charter schools as the office manager, which included working with the finance office. She was promoted to the business manager.   German Martinez: German Martinez is a Financial Assistant for the New Mexico Coalition for Charter Schools. German has worked as a volunteer service administrator along the northeastern coast of Brazil. His trilingual communication skills have enabled him to work in various community oriented programs. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science from the University of Utah and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.   Mollie Encee: Mollie comes to us with a background from APS where she supported the Board of Directors as a bookkeeper performing duties that directly relate to the services offered here at the New Mexico Coalition for Charter Schools. Her duties include Accounts Payable, reconciling, calendar, minutes of meetings, as well as handling logistics for the Board. She also brings 10 years of experience working with Smith’s.
